Olive oil, in addition to its exceptional nutritional properties (the most digestible, anti-cholesterol, high smoke point, etc.), has been known since ancient times for its beneficial characteristics on the skin. The Phoenicians called it "liquid gold", the Egyptians used it to soften the skin and make hair shiny. Recent studies show that the fat composition of olive oil (triglycerides) is very similar to the sebum of human skin and that among vegetable oils it has the greatest affinity with the skin's lipid layer; this makes it a natural anti-aging agent for skin regeneration. It is also rich in beneficial substances: Vitamin E, which fights free radicals, the main cause of the aging process; Vitamin A, which prevents dryness of mucous membranes; Squalene: able to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and restore the hydrolipdic film (weakened by solar rays and detergents), renewing the skin; unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic and linolenic that prevent skin disorders like eczema, acne, psoriasis and dry skin; beta-carotene, which gives the skin elasticity; triterpenic acids and alcohols that promote wound healing. For this purpose, Grinolio Beauty was created to produce soap for skin care. The method is traditional but with some modifications that make our product naturally fragrant. The technique used does not involve the use of other oils or fats, nor cooking, but only temperatures (< 60° C) that do not denature the active ingredients in olive oil. Processing and curing times are therefore very long (from 1 to 2 months).
Olive leaves are rich in therapeutic properties as they contain polyphenols that have multiple benefits for the body. These characteristics are due to a particular substance in olive leaves: Oleuropein, a bitter glucoside. The hydrolysis of Oleuropein generates molecules that are extremely important for our health: Elenolic Acid, Hydroxytyrosol, Tyrosol and Rutin. Olive leaves, just like olive oil, are: ANTIOXIDANTS: daily intake of olive leaf extracts prevents cellular oxidation and counteracts the action of free radicals responsible for cell aging. DETOXIFYING: preparations based on leaves have a detox action and promote the elimination of uric acids, toxins, fats and sugars in the blood while promoting the purification of the liver and kidneys. Hypotensive effect: Olive leaves possess a strong hypotensive effect as they increase arterial elasticity and thus promote regular blood circulation, counteracting phenomena such as heavy legs and varicose veins.
